![]() ![]() I served with CSM Mike Stack while he was a 1SG at Fort Devens 20 years ago. He was my role model when I became a squad leader right before he joined Special Operations. If you were struggling he would put a boot in your *** but you always knew he cared. If you were a good trooper he would give you the support and training you needed. He treated you the way you wanted to be treated. But it didn't matter if you were under his direct command or not. "I served with Mike when he was an E-6 acting platoon SGT in A Co., 1/504 PIR in the mid-80s. "Billy Jack Stack.Myself, "John J Edge", Gunny", "Mike the Ho Terry", and many others remember and salute you regularly. "Wonderfull Father, Husband, and Soldier!" MSG (Ret) "Dano" Pecaro of US Embassy, Kabul, Afghanistan "FOR GOD AND COUNTRY!" (Chaplain Corps Motto)" ![]() God bless his wife & children for whom I still shed tears for. He makes me want to be a better person & Christian warrior. I thank God for the memory I hold of Mike. The times I worked with Mike were some of the very finest in my Army career. He believed in me & opened up some opportunities to move forward. I would not have made E7 or E8 without Mike. Mike was in TRUTH the VERY BEST SOLDIER I ever met in 22 yrs of service. I was stationed in 2 SF units with Mike & then later at Fort Campbell (but in different units). "It's been ten years now (it's 2014 at this writing) since Mike left. "Remembering Mike on this day.a fine man and spec ops operator miss you Mike" I remember him every year at this time, but I always remember him when I make important decisions, I would never want to dishonor the values he instilled in me. He was a soldiers soldier, I never heard him cuss, but he "flipped" a lot. He was a great leader, always happy, and would never turn you away if you needed advice. He would be the first to put a boot in your butt if you screwed up, but he would never kick you when you were down. He instilled a sense of pride in you, to be the best of the best. SGM Stack was my first platoon sgt on active duty. I visited last week for All American week, got to see some old friends that I served with under "Billy Jack" Aco 1/504 1st plt "Thirsty Firsty". bless you fellow 80 Duce, spec ops and brother I n law. "It's been 12 years since you gave the ultimate sacrifice Mike.Miss you everyday knowing your not here.Miss the flipping you used to say all the time.Someday I'll see you again to shake your hand. ![]()
